The design on the new unit is much more attractive and modern than the one pictured. Functionally the unit is your typical high quality APC product. The new unit features a slide receptacle design so all receptacles are sealed from dirt and debris unless there is something plugged in. It also has been the only unit I have heard thus far that doesn't bother our local Comcast cable modem connections. I have heard from neighbors and some friends at work that several other vendor's units caused excessive line noise when used inline with a Comcast cable modem connection, not so with this unit. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Quality surge protection at a fair price, By Verified Purchase My house has fairly frequently over/under voltages and power outages. Have experienced a few minor voltage spikes/outages since installing the APC, which has had no issue.
